This was an extension to the existing shopping centre along with a three storey car park, along with an entrance bridge over the church lane. M&L supplied concrete rebar carnage, pumps and the engineering.
Abbey Retail
Several large units were built using a piled foundation system, concrete ground beams, reinforced floors with an under floor methane barrier using Proofex Engage. We supplied all the concrete rebar, formwork, including the under floor methane barrier.

We carried out 3 phases at the Abbey centre, the first phase included an instu carpark, columns, beams and slabs. This was one of the first out of town shopping centre we carried out. All of the ground works, underground drainage supplied all materials, concrete rebar. We carried out all the concrete to finish floor level including supply and place the shake top finish to the B&Q store.

Set on what could be described as a high water table. Concrete was poured to foundations, floors and external yard, in the region of 30,000m3 concrete. The water table was controlled with a pumping system to reduce the water table during construction.
