Waterproofing
The Different Types of Waterproofing Systems- A,B & C
British standards BS8102 2022 sets out three types of structural waterproofing protection that could be used to control water ingress entering into underground structures. M& L have used both Type A and Type B.
- Type A – barrier
- Type B – Structurally integral
Type A is a membrane type barrier that was used in Fulham Fc New Riverside stand we used a Preprufe sheet Membrane ( which doubles up as a gas proof membrane) and in West Drayton Leisure Centre we used a Bentonite membrane which utilizes the unique swelling properties of bentonite clay to create a durable and self-healing water barrier. In Liverpool Anfield road stand we used preprufe 8000 which was a bitumen self adhesive barrier which went up the exteriors of the basement walls.
Type B system was also in Both Fulham Fc New Riverside stand, Liverpool Anfield road stand extension and in West Drayton Leisure Centre with:
- Water proof additive concrete
- Joint Barriers
- Hydrophilic strip
- Flexible water bars
- A waterproofing injection systems
